Painting Sara... (almost done!)

Dear friends! Hope you're all having a great week so far. Mine has been full of active children, strong contractions (I'm due September 12th, but you never know with these little ones!), lots of sleep (thank goodness my children are good night and nap sleepers!), and even more hunger and subsequent food. These days I'm craving toast with peanut butter and honey on it... and ice cream, and many other calorie-rich things :) Let's just say all the "baby weight" I've put on is not just baby.  Let's talk painting now.

Queridos amigos! Espero que todos esten teniendo una buena semana. La mia ha estado repleta de ninos con muuuucha energia, contracciones medio intensas (no tengo fecha hasta el 12 de septiembre, pero uno nunca sabe con estos pequenitos!), mucho descanso (me siento re agradecida de que mis ninos  duermen bien de noche y durante la siesta!) y aun mas hambre y comida. Estos dias ando con antojo de tostada con manteca de mani y miel... y helado, y muchas otras cosas llenas de calorias :) Digamos que todos los kilos "de embarazo" que he subido no son solo de embarazo. Hablemos de pintura ahora!

You may remember my telling you I've signed up for an international art competition about the New Testament held by my church. Well, you probably forgot and that's just fine. I CAN'T forget about it, though, because I have this little reminder on my fridge (a place I've always visited frequently, but now it's practically where I hang out all the time!).

Puede que se acuerden de cuando les conte que me inscribi para un concurso de arte internacional acerca del Nuevo Testamento que organiza mi iglesia. Bueno, probablemente no se acuerdan, y no los culpo. El tema es que yo NO PUEDO olvidarme del asunto porque tengo este recordatorio sobre la puerta de mi heladera (un artefacto que siempre he visitado frecuentemente, pero que ahora se ha vuelto mi lugar preferido a toda hora!).

Anyways, here I show you a few pictures showing some progress on the painting I'm working on. I've done plenty of preliminary drawings and one oil study on it before, so this is my final try. It's not quite finished yet, but it's getting close to what I can do with my current skills. I have from November of this year until February of the next to submit an electronic picture of it for the competition. This is my first time doing something like this, so really I'm just going for the experience and hoping this makes me try a bit harder and learn some more about figure painting.

En fin, aca les muestro algunas fotos del progreso de la pintura que estoy creando. He hecho varios bosquejos preliminares y un estudio al oleo, asi que, esto representa mi esfuerzo final. La pintura no esta terminada todavia, pero se esta acercando al final de mis abilidades en este momento. Tengo desde noviembre de este anio hasta febrero del que viene para enviar una imagen electronica de la pintura final para el concurso. Esta es la primera vez que me animo a hacer algo como esto, asi que, simplemente estoy disfrutando de la experiencia y espero que me haga esforzarme con mas ganas y aprender un poquito mas acerca de pintar la figura humana.

I'm hoping to finish it before September. I'm super grateful for my husband and friends who've given me so much feedback to make Sara look more human than not :) Have a great rest of the week!

Good afternoon everyone! Hope you're all enjoying a nice Monday so far. I got to walk for one hour on a treadmill this morning, so for my pregnant standards I feel like I just ran a marathon (super proud, and pretty exhausted!). Anyways, let's talk painting.

Buenas tardes gente linda! Espero que todos esten teniendo un buen lunes. Esta manana camine una hora sobre una cinta caminadora, y por estar embarazada siento que acabo de correr un maraton completo (me siento super feliz y al mismo tiempo no doy mas del cansancio!). En fin, hablemos de pintura.

Do you remember that I was working on two musical paintings for my dear friends Sonia and Mariana in Argentina? Well, I finished Mariana's a while ago (you can see that one here). And Friday night I finally finished painting Sonia's. Here are some pictures of that colorful adventure:

Se acuerdan que estaba creando dos pinturas musicales para mis amigas Sonia y Mariana en Argentina? Bueno, termine de pintar la de Mariana hace unas semanas (podes verla aqui). Y el viernes pasado finalmente termine la de Sonia. Aca les muestro algunas fotos de esta aventura colorida.

The drawing part is always the hardest for me! It takes me a long time and I'm always afraid to mess up (I still do, and erase and start over several times!) I have to practice more drawing.

La parte del dibujo es la que mas me cuesta! Me lleva un buen rato y siempre tengo miedo de meter la pata (Igual la meto! jaja Y borro y empiezo de nuevo varias veces!) Tengo que practicar mas dibujo.

Compressed Charcoal: Another Try to Draw Sara!

Hello Friends! Sorry I haven't posted anything for a while. Being six months pregnant and trying to enjoy summer activities with the kids make me pretty tired at the end of the day. But yesterday I surprisingly felt a huge amount of energy and stayed up late working on yet another charcoal drawing of Sara. The "huge amount of energy" may be due to the fact that yesterday morning I received a little reminder in the mail about my participation in the "10th International Art Competition: Tell Me The Stories of Jesus". The deadline of submission is approaching and I have done preliminary drawings and  and an oil study... but haven't gotten to final canvas yet!!!!! So CANDELA, we have to get this painting done! (especially before my baby is born... it always takes me months to get back to painting after having a baby!). The submission window is from November 2014- February 2015. I honestly don't have any intention (or expectation) to win anything, but I want this challenge to make me try a bit harder to paint something beautiful and as accurate as possible.

Hola Amigos! Perdon que no he escrito nada en mi blog por algun tiempo. Al estar embarazada de seis meses y querer disfrutar de las actividades de verano con mis pequenitos, termino bastante cansada al final del dia. Pero anoche, no se como, senti un monton de energia y me quede haciendo otro dibujo de carbon comprimido de Sara. Puede que "el monton de energia" se deba a que recibi una tarjetita en el correo ayer a la manana recordandome que estoy inscrita para la "10th International Art Competition: Tell Me The Stories of Jesus". La fecha final de entrega se acerca y ya he hecho varios bosquejos preliminares y un estudio al oleo... pero no he comenzado a pintar nada en el lienzo final!!! Asi que, CANDELA, tenemos que ponernos a trabajar querida! (especialmente antes de que nazca el bebe... siempre me lleva meses pintar de nuevo despues de tener un bebe!). El periodo de tiempo de entrega de pinturas para el concurso es desde noviembre de 2014 hasta febrero de 2015. Honestamente no tengo intenciones (o expectativas) de ganar ningun reconocimiento, pero quiero que este desafio me empuje a esforzarme un poquito mas para pintar algo hermoso y -en lo que mas pueda- exacto.

Hola a todos! Espero que muchos de ustedes esten disfrutando de una linda noche con un bowl de helado en las manos. Por alguna razon magica, esas son mis circumstancias esta noche... y les miento si les digo que no estoy disfrutandolas y que solo voy a comer un bowl de helado! En fin, hablemos de las pinturas ahora.

I've been wanting to paint something for my dear friends Sonia and Mariana for some time now. We have been a very happy "trio" ever since our teens and have wonderful memories together. Every time I get to go to Argentina we get together and chat and laugh as if we were still thirteen years old, which is awesome. Sometimes I forget I have a sense of humor, and they always seem to bring it back in me!

He querido pintar algo para mis amigas Sonia y Mariana desde hace bastante. Somos un trio feliz desde nuestra adolescencia y tenemos recuerdos hermosos juntas. Cada vez que tengo la oportunidad de ir a Argentina nos reunimos y charlamos y nos reimos como si todavia tuvieramos trece anios, lo cual es maravilloso. A veces me olvido de que tengo un sentido del humor, y ellas tienen la capacidad de siempre traerlo a flote cuando estamos juntas.

After telling them I wanted to paint something, they sent me images of paintings they like. Both of them sent me paintings that have to do with music. Sonia's painting was done by Leonid Afremov. We're still trying to find the author of Mariana's painting (so I'll have to post it as anonymous for now). But if you know the name, please let me know!

I'll get started with Sonia's now and see if I can paint a person who is so happily playing the cello! (talk about a challenge!). But I'm excited, I always learn something with each new painting.

Ahora comenzare la pintura de Sonia y veremos si puedo pintar a una persona que disfruta tanto de tocar el cello! (que desafio!). Pero estoy contenta, siempre aprendo algo con cada nueva pintura.

Nautical Painting Finished!

Dear amigos! After what it feels like months of not touching a paintbrush, I finally sat down and finished this painting for my friend Melanie's baby. I'm very happy to inform all of you that he was born yesterday and that both mom and baby are doing great!!! The last time I worked on this painting I wrote down some items that needed to be addressed. And these are the things I worked on today. Here's the list:

- Add more texture to water

- Finish up men in the boat

- Paint ropes under the sail

- Add some detail to the other two little boats

- Gray up clouds a bit more (especially the hot pink parts)

- Add orange highlights on sail boat surfaces

Queridos amigos! Despues de lo que pareciera como meses de no tocar un pincel, finalmente me sente y termine esta pintura para el bebe de mi amiga Melanie. Estoy re feliz de informales que el bebe nacio ayer y que tanto el como su mama estan muy bien! La ultima vez que trabaje sobre esta pintura hice una lista de cositas que necesitaban mi atencion. Esas son las cosas en las que me enfoque hoy. Aqui les muestro la lista:

- Agregar textura al agua

- Terminar de pintar los hombres en el bote

- Pintar las sogas que aparecen debajo de las velas

- Agregar un poquito mas de detalle a los otros dos barquitos

- Pintar con gris sobre aquellas nubes que estan demasiado rosadas

- Agregar reflejos anaranjados sobre algunas superficies del barco principal

I hope Melanie and baby both like the painting! It's been a challenging adventure with all the colors in the sky and water. Remember I was going to do palette knife texture? Do you notice that I didn't do it? Well... I learned my lesson. Next time I want to do that, I should do the palette knife painting when I have all the colors mixed and ready. My idea to add texture at the end only meant that I had to mix up ALL OF THE COLORS all over again (and match them closely to what I already had painted) in order to add texture. Because by the time the paint was dry on the canvas to start adding texture... the paint on my plate was dry as well and I couldn't use it anymore! So, word to the wise: Use the palette knife earlier in the process next time! But overall, I'm very happy with all I've learned with this experience. Hope they like it!

Espero que a Melanie y a su bebe les guste la pintura! Ha sido un buen desafio pintar tantos colores en el cielo y el agua. Se acuerdan que iba a pintar con espatula? Ven que al final no lo hice? Bueno, aprendi una leccion. La proxima vez que quiera pintar con espatula, lo voy a hacer cuando tenga todos los colores mezclados y listos y no al final. La idea mia de agregar textura al final con la espatula significo que tenia que mezclar TODOS ESOS COLORES de nuevo (y tener la suerte de que se parezcan a los que ya habia pintado). Porque para cuando la pintura se habia secado sobre el lienzo para comenzar a agregar textura con la espatula... tambien se habia secado sobre mis platos de mezcla y no la podia utilizar mas. Asi que, mi consejo a mi misma es el siguiente: Usa la espatula cuando comenzas a mezclar colores! Aun asi, estoy contenta con todo lo que aprendi con esta experiencia. Espero que les guste!

Say what?!? The other day I was searching the web for free online art classes. And I found this one, among others. It's a figure drawing class taught online by Patricia Watwood at craftsy.com. The class is called "Figure Drawing Atelier". The nice thing about this class (apart from it being free!) is that you can watch it a million times and you can chat with other students who are also watching it. Besides, you can submit your own drawings and benefit from the fresh eyes of fellow classmates that can give you a few pointers. Because this class is free, the instructor doesn't directly respond to your questions, but your classmates can. There are many other classes offered in this website at different prices as well. If you're interested in taking this free one, here is the link!!! Enjoy!

Como?!?! Una clase de arte, por internet... y gratuita? Si! El otro dia estaba buscando clases de arte gratuitas por internet y encontre esta, entre muchas otras. Se trata de la figura humana y la ensena Patricia Watwood en el sitio craftsy.com. La clase se llama "Figure Drawing Atelier" y lo lindo (aparte de que es gratis!) es que uno puede mirarla un millon de veces y chatear con otros estudiantes que tambien la estan mirando. Aparte, uno puede enviar sus propios dibujos al sitio para que los companeros de la clase te den consejos al ver tu trabajo desde otra perspectiva. Al ser gratuita, la instructora no contesta las preguntas que envies, pero tus companeros de clase si pueden hacerlo. El sitio ofrece muchas otras clases a diferentes costos tambien. Blue Teapot for A Dear Friend.

Good afternoon amigos and thank goodness for kids who -sometimes- nap really well! So, let me show you this cute blue teapot I just finished for my friend Luisa Maria before they wake up! I love how the colors work together. And, if you understand Spanish, all of the words written around it have to do with the things Luisa Maria and I eat when we're together. We like to eat... a lot. We often joke that maybe it's a good thing she's moving away (sniff, sniff) so we both can stop gaining weight! hahaha

Buenas tardes gente linda! Y... gracias a la vida por ninos que -de vez en cuando- duermen una larga siesta! Entonces, dejenme que les muestre esta tetera azul que recien termine para mi amiga Luisa Maria... antes de que ellos se despierten! Me gusta como quedaron los colores. Y, todas las palabras escritas alrededor son representativas de las cosas que comemos cuando ella y yo estamos juntas. Nos gusta comer... un monton. Siempre nos reimos cuando hablamos de que tal vez sea mejor que ella tenga que mudarse (aunque me ponga triste), asi las dos podemos dejar de engordar tanto! jaja

Interview with Painter Howard Lyon.

Good Afternoon Friends! I don't know why I always need to tell you about the weather in Wisconsin, but, oh well... here I go. After enjoying 60 degree weather last Saturday, I woke up this morning to snow and 33 degrees. I was a bit sad, but that only means I have another chance to enjoy some hot chocolate before it makes me sweat! The glass is half-full today, people.

Anyways,  here is the link to an online interview I just did with painter Howard Lyon for Mormon Artist. Wow!!! This guy can paint very detailed and realistic pictures. It's amazing. He didn't always paint religious art, for many years he created fantastic worlds and characters for other industries. That's why I think it's amazing that the same painter can produce such different art. That goes to tell you, you can always expand your repertoire! No boxed up style here! Enjoy the interview.

Buenas tardes queridos amigos! No se por que siempre siento la necesidad de contarles acerca del clima de Wisconsin; pero, no lo puedo evitar... y aca voy de nuevo! Despues de disfrutar un clima hermoso de unos 20 grados centigrados el sabado pasado, hoy amaneci rodeada de nieve y temperatura bajo cero nuevamente. Me entristeci, pero, lo lindo es que me da una chance mas de tomar chocolate caliente antes de que el hacerlo me haga sudar! El vaso esta mitad lleno hoy, gente querida.

En fin, aqui esta el link de otra entrevista que acabo de hacerle al pintor Howard Lyon para Mormon Artist. Pero que pintor!!! Este senor puede crear arte lleno de detalle y realismo. Es increible. No siempre pinto arte religioso, sino que por muchos anos se dedico a crear mundos y personajes fantasticos para otras industrias. Por eso me parece increible que el mismo artista pueda producir arte tan variado. Y eso me sirve para saber que uno siempre puede expandir su repertorio! No hay por que quedarse con el mismo estilo permanentemente. Que disfruten la entrevista.

Nautical Painting.

Hello Amigos! My friend Melanie is having a baby boy pretty soon here. It's her first baby and I'm so excited for her. So excited... that I got a little ambitious. So ambitious, that I told her I would paint something for her baby's nursery. And I told her, "Just pick a painting. ANY painting, and I'll try to paint it for you". I thought, "Challenges are good. If my efforts look ugly, I'll just buy her baby a cute outfit instead and she doesn't have to hang the painting up and we'll both forget about it". Well... let me show you the inspiring image Melanie sent me in an email few days after my daring proposal.

Hola Gente! Mi amiga Melanie va a tener un bebe en unas semanas. Es su primer bebe, asi que estoy especialmente contenta por ella. Tan contenta... que me senti un poquito "extra" competente cuando le dije que le pintaria algo para la habitacion de su bebe. "Eleji una pintura", le dije. "LA QUE QUIERAS, y voy a tratar de pintartela". Pense, "Los desafios son buenos. Si se termina viendo fea la pintura, le compro una ropita linda al bebe, ella no tiene que colgar la pintura y las dos nos olvidamos del intento". Bueno, dejenme que les muestre la imagen que me mando Melanie en un email unos dias despues de nuestra conversacion.

Evening Sail by Sandy Nelson.

When I saw it in my email I thought, "I've never painted a colorful sky or water... or a boat, or people in a boat, or a sunset. Oh Man, I'm in trouble!" But you know, it's the "good" kind of trouble. The one that makes you try a bit harder and say a prayer before you start painting because it's so challenging! So I started and here's what I have so far.

Cuando vi el email pense, "Nunca pinte agua ni cielos coloridos... ni un barco, ni gente en un barco, ni un atardecer. En que me meti!" Pero, siento que es una "buena" metida de pata (como decimos en Argentina). El tipo de desafio que te impulsa a ponerle mas esfuerzo al intento y a hacer una oracion antes de empezar a pintar porque te cuesta tanto! Asi que, empece la pintura y asi va quedando.

I drew the main shapes and started laying down paint on the darkest spots.

Dibuje las formas basicas y pinte las partes mas oscuras.

And then I worked on getting rid of the white in the canvas and covering as much as I could with color (as close to matching the original as possible). I started noticing the warm (oranges, yellows, pinks) and the cold spots (blues, grays).

Despues trate de deshacerme de lo blanco del lienzo al cubrir la mayor cantidad de espacio con color (tan parecido al original como pude). Empece a notar los colores calidos (anaranjados, amarillos, rosados) y los colores frios (azules, grises).

And the more I looked at it, the better I could lay down the basic colors. It's like mapping it out.

Y mientras mas observo la pintura original, mas zonas de color aparecen. Como las de un mapa.

And this is as far as I've gotten on it. Melanie would like me to use my palette knife to add texture to the painting. So I think that's what I'll do next. 

Y hasta aca llegue anoche. A Melanie le gustaria que la pintura tuviera la textura que le da la espatula y mucha pintura. Asi que, creo que eso es lo que voy a tratar de pintar esta noche.

I love these colorful bowls. So I created similar ones. I think this painting is definitely going to brighten my dear kitchen! (Did I ever mention I willingly spend most of my day inside those four walls?) 

Me encantan estos bowls coloridos. Asi que, pinte unos parecidos. Tengo el presentimiento de que esta pintura va a quedar linda y colorida en mi querida cocina! (Mencione alguna vez que -porque me encanta- paso la gran mayoria del dia dentro de esas cuatro paredes?)

Good Afternoon Gente! Here I am drinking some "mate" as I enjoy the sun shinning through my window. It's still cold in Wisconsin, but man, the sun helps! Anyways, the other day I looked at my kitchen and realized it needed some color. So I decided to start three kitchen paintings. I finished two of them and I'm still working on the third one.

Buenas Tardes Gente! Aqui estoy tomandome unos mates mientras disfruto del solcito que me llega por la ventana. Todavia hace frio en Wisconsin, pero el sol ayuda! En fin, el otro dia me di cuenta de que mi cocina necesitaba un poquito de color. Asi que decidi hacer tres pinturas. Termine dos y la tercera esta en proceso.

Hello everybody! Here's the link to another online interview I did for the Mormon Artist online magazine. This one features illustrator David Habben, an incredibly talented artist with ink and digital creations. I love his creativity and the unique look of his work. That, my friends, is not so easy to achieve (at least for me). I'm talking about arriving to the point where your art looks consistently "yours", it has your touch, and it's recognizable because of that. I loved David's answers and humility. Good Evening Gente! Well, today I tried fixing an old painting I did last fall of a colorful display of umbrellas in the city of Agueda, Portugal. My husband lived in Portugal for two years as a missionary for our church before we met, and I wanted to paint something that would remind him of that beautiful country. I found this photograph while doing some online research:

Buenas noches gente linda! Bueno, hoy trate de mejorar una pintura que hice alrededor de septiembre del ano pasado. Es una pintura de la ciudad de Agueda, Portugal. Mi esposo vivio en Portugal por dos anos mientras sirvio una mision religiosa antes de conocernos. Entonces queria pintarle algo que le recordara de ese hermoso pais. Encontre esta foto mientras buscaba imagenes por internet:

Isn't this a WONDERFUL image? Goodness! All that color, the umbrellas, the line of perspective... I like everything about it! Now, as I said at the beginning, I had to fix it and I worked on that tonight. Last fall, I worked on this painting using only brushes and I was pretty happy with how it was turning out... until the last dark touches. Let me show you some "old" progress:

No les parece una foto ESPECTACULAR? Por favor! Todo ese color, los paraguas, la linea de perspectiva... No hay una cosa que no me guste! Ahora, como les decia al principio, tuve que arreglar la version anterior de esta pintura y eso es lo que hice esta noche. Inicialmente, trabaje en esta pintura usando exclusivamente pinceles y, la verdad, que estaba contenta con como iba progresando... hasta que le agregue las ultimas lineas oscuras. Aca les muestro progreso "de aquella vez":

In my mind, things were going well so far. The sky, the buildings. I was excited.

En mi mente, me parecia que la pintura iba bien. El cielo, los edificios. Estaba "chocha" (diriamos los Argentinos :).

And those first umbrellas just made my heart leap of joy! Boy, was I excited about how this painting was turning out!

Y esos primeros paraguas me crearon tanto gozo que creo que se me paro el corazon un ratito cuando los pinte... de pura alegria! Como les dije "chochera total" con el desarrollo de esta pintura.

And look at this... saaaaaaaad. I added those black lines. They really look aggressive and out of place. They made the rest of the shapes and colors look flat.

Y, miren la que me mande... quedo mal! Le agregue esas lineas negras que parecen agresivas y fuera de lugar. Hicieron que el resto de las formas y los colores se vean chatos y sin dimension.

I got carried away. It happens. Sometimes I start feeling "artsy" and think that no matter what I do (even if it's bold, and even if I have no idea what I'm doing, or what that brush stroke will really look like...) it will look Picasso-ish and awesome. Well, clearly my friends, that wasn't the outcome on this painting. As a result, I felt sad about it for months and just didn't touch it until tonight. 

Se me fue la mano. Nos pasa a todos. A veces me empiezo a sentir "re artista" y a pensar que, no importa lo que haga (aun si es medio audaz, aun si no tengo idea de lo que estoy haciendo, aun si no tengo idea de como se va a ver esa pincelada...), se va a ver onda Picasso y espectacular. Bueno, claramente, amigos mios, ese no fue el resultado en esta pintura. El resultado fue que me quede medio triste cuando meti la pata con las lineas negras y no la toque mas hasta esta noche.

With renewed vision (maybe I'll call it just "courage"), I tried fixing it tonight. Some things I needed to address were:

- The umbrellas are quite un-finished. I needed to add another coat of paint on each one of them.

- And those dark lines... they needed to be "tamed"or hidden a bit.

- Aaaaaand, I REALLY wanted to try doing some palette knife touches on it. I will confess: I LOVE the look of paintings done with palette knives. I just do. I love the texture, the mess, the artsiness (if that's a word).

Con una vision renovada (bueno, le voy a llamar simplemente "coraje"), trate de arreglar la pintura esta noche. Estas son algunas de las cosas que tenia en mente:

- Los paraguas necesitaban otra mano de pintura.

- Tenia que disimular un poquito las lineas negras.

- Y, REALMENTE queria probar agregarle unos toques con espatula. Confesion: ME ENCANTAN como se ven las pinturas producidas o acentuadas con espatula. Es simple: me gusta la textura, el toque desprolijo, el "art-ismo" (si fuera una palabra).

So, let me show you tonight's work and humble efforts:

Here I'm adding another coat of paint on each one of the umbrellas. The colors had become a bit transparent and dull.

Aca le estoy agregando otra mano de pintura a los paraguas. Los colores se veian transparentes y necesitaban, en mi opinion, otra mano de pintura.

This is after I had added another coat over all the umbrellas.

Aca se ven los paraguas despues de la segunda mano de pintura.

Aaaaaaand, YAY! Here's my little palette knife and a very excited soul to just add some thick paint on that canvas!!!

Y, YUPIIII! Aca esta mi pequena espatula de pintura y mi alma llena de gozo al contemplar la posibilidad de agregar mucha pintura a la vez sobre el lienzo.

Oh, what a JOY!! Thick paint, bright colors. I was in Heaven.

Oh, que ALEGRIA! Pintura espesa, colores vivos. No podia estar mas feliz yo!

And here's how it's looking so far. I smeared paint over all the umbrellas, AND buildings at the bottom.  Used my smallest brush and brown this time (not black) to lightly repaint some umbrella handles that had gotten painted over. Oh, I love this version so much more than the previous one. I actually would like to see this painting hanging on my wall this time. But I'll have to wait. The thick amounts of oil paint I applied will take FOREVER to dry (I just hope my little boys don't feel too curious and touch it while it's fresh this week!).

Y aqui les muestro como va quedando hasta ahora despues de aplicar pintura con espatula sobre los paraguas y los edificios. Use mi pincel mas pequeno y pintura marron (no negra) para pintar con cuidado algunos de los punos de los paraguas que habian desaparecido despues de la segunda mano de pintura. Me gusta esta version mucho mas que la anterior. Hasta pienso que me gustaria colgar esta pintura en casa como se ve ahora. Pero tendre que esperar. Con la cantidad de pintura espesa (sin diluir) que puse va a llevar UNA ETERNIDAD para secarse (espero que mis pequenitos no se pongan muy curiosos y quieran tocarla esta semana mientras esta fresca!).

Now, I'm opening my heart to possible harsh criticism here. What do you think? Did you like it better before, or a little later (but before the palette knife additions), or LATER-later (as in after all the thick paint was applied)? 

Ahora, abro mi corazon a la posible critica de aquellos que no piensen como yo. Que te parece la pintura? Te gustaba mas antes, o un poquito despues (pero aun antes de los agregados con espatula), o al final?
